Hedgehog Highway

Back in early spring, I dug a little tunnel under our fence into our neighbour's garden. I wanted a corridor to link up the two spaces for wildlife. I positioned it behind their garden shed to make it as innocuous as possible.  I'll be honest, I didn't ask permission. I just did it. Probably not the recommended approach, but we don't actually know our neighbours on that side. My momentum was going from grubbing out a stubborn bramble, so I thought, I'll ask for forgiveness later... The tunnel has been there for several months now with no uncomfortable knock on the front door, so I'm guessing no one noticed or no one cares. Either way works for me. This morning, I discovered just how much it works for our garden's wildlife too. Yesterday, I noticed our wildlife camera listlessly lying on the dining room table. With some time on my hands, I checked the batteries, took it into the garden, and pointed it at the tunnel. I didn't expect more than rats to be ho...
